Hygiene Promotion in Emergencies, RedR India, India, 09-12 March 2010
This course module helps participants to create hygiene awareness in emergencies and enable communities to take appropriate action through effective participation. Theory, practice and hands-on experience are all built into this intensive four-day module.

In this 4 days training, first 2 days focus on understanding ecosan from development projects and the second half of the course on identifying potential for emergency context should feature.
To understand the principles of ecosan philosophy and the benefits of technologies under ecosan concept from development projects and cast studies
To expose to the successful application of ecosan interventions in emergency context through case studies.
To identify appropriate technologies under ecosan concept and specific contexts and situations where they can be adopted in emergencies
Training methodology
RedR training emphasises on active learning through participatory group exercises, case studies, role-play, focused discussion, field visits and practicals. Training is planned and presented in collaboration with relief agencies and specialist organisations. Informal exchange of experience is a vital part of every course.
